Lady Gaga, Britney Spears and Katy Perry are all female innovators of modern pop music, and now all three have stepped into the dark science fiction genre by releasing highly strange and sci-fi inspired music videos over the last two months.
Katy Perry's "E.T.", Lady Gaga's "Born This Way", and Britney Spears' "Hold It Against Me" use a variety of graphic sci-fi themes, while the songs themselves are not all about science fiction in terms of lyrics. A theme that is recurring in all three songs is that critics refuse to take them seriously, perhaps because pop radio doesn't tend to thrive on real issues. But sci-fi is all about metaphors and social commentary on the state of human existence, and for these three singers the common metaphor is rebirth.

The plot of the new film Iron Sky could be summed up very roughly in one sentence: "In 1945 the Nazis flee to space, colonize the dark side of the moon and, in 2018, launch a revenge attack on earth". Now just from reading a description like this, one might wonder what film producer would be crazy enough to get behind a dark science fiction/comedy like this.
The answer is not many, but that didn't stop the Finnish makers of the film from going ahead with it anyway. They managed to sell some German and Australian producers on the idea and round up 6.8 million euros in funding from traditional sources as well as 1 million euros from "crowd-sourcing" and online fund raising. The money has been spent on spectacular special effects that rival Hollywood's best, and the film's creators say they were inspired by Dr Strangelove, Independence Day, and Star Wars, among other classics.

Literature can mainly be dived into 2 categories, nonfiction and fiction. Myths and legends, an important part of every culture, have always entertained people. Dark fiction generally is literature consisting of horror-packed and paranormal sci-fi reading material. It generally opens the minds of people that have never imagined.
Most of the time, it is fiction. Horror stories, paranormal fictions, ghost, zombie and monster stories, forensic mysteries and fantasies in all forms are considered to fall under such segments. Though some may find it disturbing, others find it interesting to read. There is a specific group of readers who love this kind of literature. Regular readers even have blogs posted so as to express their ideas. So to summarize, every person has a right to what he or she wants to read and express.
